Evaluate the impact of leadership and ethical decision making on organizational culture.
OLM 521 - Ethical Decision Making
Typically, I have been an on-campus student for all of my classes except two which were not offered on campus. My very first online class was OLM 521, Ethical Decision Making. It was very intimidating to me and I allowed my fear of being in an online setting distract me, thus preventing me from reaching my full potential. Although I earned a B, I learned so much in this class and the textbook, From Values to Action (Kraemer, 2011). This textbook is one I plan to keep in my personal library and am certain I will use it as a resource in my future endeavors.
For years, I was led to believe that you had to keep your personal life and beliefs separate from business. This course taught me how to effectively incorporate my personal values and beliefs into my leadership and it helped improve my leadership ability. Experience has taught me that in leadership, you will be presented with various situations that may strengthen or threaten your integrity and reputation. By utilizing the four principles outlined in this course: Self Reflection, Balance and Perspective, True Self Confidence and Genuine Humility, I have guidelines to help ensure that I remain an ethical leader (Kraemer, 2011). Below are two artifacts that can represent my proficiency with this learning outcome.
